While many non-governmental organizations at local, regional, national and international, have been working in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral as well as across the country with multi-sectoral projects but it has been revealed that some of the sectors need further attention in a sustainable way.
WWT is composed of volunteers and professionals from Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. Its local origin and organizational composition allowed WWT the unique position to easily access local communities for mobilization of their resources and actualize the concept of sustainable development through self-reliance. Close observation from a local perspective renders keen judgmental ability to an organization and that is why WWT exists – to count on local indigenous knowledge, capability of specific needs assessment, and ability to mobilize local resources for bringing about awareness, social cohesion and sustainable development.
The basic philosophy behind the formation of the organization is, to develop a society, where every individual enjoy equal opportunities and benefit of development where everyone delivers for the collective benefits of the society and respects for wildlife and biodiversity.
